Our Extremely Transparent Story

We lived in London, took care of a six storey apartment building near Wortley Village mostly inhabited by seniors and did interior painting on the side. After 3yrs of painting doing well for us, and falling in love with the camping life, we decided to give up our apartment. We gave 3.5 mos notice in Dec. 2019...  Plan; camp in Ontario for the summer while we work and try our hand at the U.S.A. for the winter.

Come April 2020, smack in the middle of our world fiasco, we honoured our notice and left our apartment behind. Ontario Parks had refunded all of our money and cancelled all of our camp site reservations. Zero chance at crossing the border. Painting was at a halt; we weren't allowed into peoples homes and big contractors were buying up all of the supplies leaving none for us little guys. Finding housing... yeah... okay! Great timing.

Living in our 24ft travel trailer, trying to keep our heads above water, we started buying and selling online.  This lead to connections, new friends and even a new community!  After a little less than 2 year we had saved up enough unwanted items in storage that we could open a shop... so we did! (Opening date was February 28, 2022.)

Our story was graciously published by Villager Publications in the May 2022 issue of Hometown Strathroy-Caradoc. We were nominated in the 2023 CommunityVotes London and received the Silver award for Best in Thrift Stores, and then won Platinum for 2024!

Just recently passing our 3rd Anniversary, we feel extremely blessed with not only what we have become, but the new people that it brings into our lives daily. We have met so many people from all walks of life; from our MP Lianne Rood and her family to guys in biker gangs, from Movie Directors to Amish folk!

Our mission is to keep as much stuff out of the landfill & find it all new homes, make enough money to eat and pay bills, and pass on to those in need whenever we can. We just like to help. :)

Unfortunately, we're still stuck living in our travel trailer but we're resilient, we're fighters and we'll make it through.... all thanks to you!

Much Love,

Lee and Amanda
